Agencija za reciklažu je osnovana kao posebna stručna republička organizacija u skladu sa odredbama Zakona o postupanju sa otpadnim. Bojni realizovani projekti su  rezultat ogromne energije i entuzijazma ovoga tima, predvođenog direktorom Gordanom Perović. Agencija je karika koja povezuje sve proizvođače otpada – generatore sa preduzećima za reciklažu. Započela je procese uvođenja segmenata novih tehnologija za reciklažu, pre svega PET ambalaže, aluminijumskih limenki, olovnih akumulatora, istrošenih tonera, elektronskog i električnog otpada.
