PROFILE. Adrien De Melo works in many fields (objects, furniture, scenography, interior architecture), with a work philosophy of conceptualising non-standard objects, spaces or systems destined to be manufactured, where design constitutes an integrated architecture, eliminating hierarchies and pre-established ideas.
He explores object and space, by questioning the frontiers between elegance and disgrace, functionality and futility, flexibility and transformability, promoting creation based on lateral thinking. His work pushes the formal and technical limits of design and architecture to question the meaning of the object, sometimes resulting in rethinking and restructuring the project's use or direction.
Each project is a moment of collaboration, experiment, study and development, with the will to imbricate narrowly and fully the design and manufacturing processes.
Since 2006, he works solo. He has collaborated on any projects with architects, designers such as Frank O. Gehry, Didier Fiuza Faustino, Adrien Rovero, Périphériques, GPAA; contemporary artists such as Dan Graham, Daniel Buren, Subodh Gupta, Camille Henrot, Claude Levêque, Bertrand Lavier, Kader Attia, Michelangelo Pistoletto or Peter Kogler. +Born in 1979, works and lives in Paris. He is a founding member of Happy Architects
